What we collect
When you request quotes, we collect the type of work, your description of the job, your timeline, the city and postal code of the job, an optional budget, your name, your email address and an optional phone number.
How we use it
- To find local companies that do the kind of work you need.
- To send those companies a quote request in your name, by email or through the contact form on their website, using your name, city, the first part of your postal code and the job details.
- To pass their replies on to you. Companies write to a private address we set up for your request, and we forward their replies to your email, so your own email address isn't given out.
- To send you a short summary of the quotes, and to contact you about your request.
Before anything is sent, we ask you to confirm your email address. We share your phone number with companies only if you tick the box that allows it. We never sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising. Companies can ask us to stop sending them requests at any time.
Where it's stored
Your request is stored with our database provider in Canada. We use an email provider to send you updates and quotes. We may use AI services to read contractor websites and to summarize the quotes you receive. Those providers only get the information needed for that task.
On your device
After you send a request, your browser remembers your name, email, phone, city and postal code, so your next request is quicker. This stays on your device and isn't used for tracking. To remove it, open the request page and choose "Use a different email". We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your request for up to 12 months after your project is closed, then delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or tell us to stop contacting companies for you, by replying to any email from us.
